Step 1: From your registered mobile number send an SMS to 567676 using the format given below:
PIN<xxxx><yyyy>
In place of xxxx you have to provide last four digits of your debit card number. In place of yyyy you have to provide last four digits of your SBI bank account number.
Step 2: After sending the SMS you will get an OTP (One Time Password). This OTP can be used to generate PIN for new ATM card from any nearest SBI ATM counter within 24 hours as OTP will be valid only for 24 hours.
SBI ATM (Debit Card) PIN Generation Through IVR:
Step 1: Using your SBI Registered Mobile Number call on 18004253800 or 1800112211
Step 2: Now enter your 16 digit SBI Debit Card Number when you are asked to do so
Step 3: Now enter your SBI Account Number
Step 4: Now you will receive an OTP via SMS. Use this OTP for generating the PIN.
How to change SBI ATM Pin through ATM
Step 1: Go to any nearest SBI ATM.
Step 2: Select the option of PIN Generation on ATM screen
Step 3 : Now enter your SBI Account Number
Step 4 : Now enter your SBI Registered Mobile Number and re-enter it to confirm the number.
Step 5: After entering the Mobile Number you will receive an OTP on your Registered Mobile Number.

Please make sure you are expecting the SMS on same number with which you have registered in your bank. Also check if you have proper network in your area.
After visiting 7 SBI ATMs (Where the generate PIN button was not working, suggested by gurad that this is an older ATM search for some other where it works), finally I found one ATM where the button was working, but after entering my mobile number correctly it used to say, “there is some technical issue, contact our customer care or branch”. Such a poor response only expected from SBI

I have tried to generate ATM cum Debit card PIN for new chip card, 3 times through 3 different processes (through ATM, SMS and NET-Banking) but unable to do so. At ATM Kiosk I got the message is “unable to process your request”, for SMS trial, didn’t receive any OTP since long hours, and in I-Banking I got the message “unable to process your request try after some time”. All the above said ways of generating your pin is fake & just an eye wash to show that they have 4 different ways to do it.
According to me they have only one way of generating your pin and that can happen only via visiting the HOME BRANCH, because only they have a control on it.
